“Let your light shine.”

Matthew 5:16

We will let our light shine through courage that dares to try when we face challenges, compassion that notices and acts, and respect that listens, values and honours every person as made in God’s image. In our changing and diverse school community, we will ensure everyone is nurtured and supported to flourish.

How Our Vision Is Lived Out Every Day

Courage — “the courage to try”

We choose brave goodness: speaking truth kindly, persevering when learning is hard, and making good choices even when they are not easy.  We take inspiration from the risky road in the Good Samaritan story, where love becomes action rather than avoidance.

Compassion — “the compassion to care”

Like the Good Samaritan, we are moved to act, helping, including and forgiving so that care is practical, not just a feeling.  Compassion shapes our relationships, worship, curriculum priorities and community engagement.

Respect — “the respect to listen”

We honour every voice and background, choosing words that support and practices that protect dignity.  Just as the Good Samaritan did, we show that our neighbour includes everyone, especially those who might be overlooked.

Welcome to St. John’s Church of England Primary School, part of the Spire Trust Learning Partnership.  Our school is a vibrant and happy place, and our children are at the heart of everything we do.

We are always delighted to welcome visitors to our school.  Please contact the school office on 01562 745558 to arrange your visit. We look forward to seeing you and showing you our wonderful school, its pupils and its staff.

Spirituality

Spirituality is nurturing an awareness of our world through awe, wonder and compassion and showing love for everything within it. It is a recognition of a feeling, sense or belief that there is something greater than ourselves and that we are part of something big.

Here at St. John’s, our Christian ethos forms the foundation of an inclusive, vibrant and safe learning environment where all our children are encouraged and supported to achieve their full potential and to flourish. We have high expectations and love to help our children develop their sense of
