Our Results
Performance and Standards
Since joining The Spire Church of England Multi Academy Trust in September 2018, our school has made significant progress in addressing the points raised in the Ofsted report of February 2017. The substantive Head teacher and brand-new leadership team have ‘a strong commitment to providing the best experience of education for pupils’ (HMI 2018). Working alongside our outstanding partner school, St. John’s CE Middle in Bromsgrove, the progress and attainment of pupils in core subjects has increased significantly, with the school achieving SATs results broadly in line with national expectations in reading, and above national expectation in maths, in fact one of the best results for maths in the Wyre Forest District. Our writing results have also seen substantial improvements. In fact, pupils attending St. John’s from Reception through to Year 6 achieved results above the national average thanks to the dedication and hard work of our strong teaching team.
The school is clearly focused on delivering a strong well-balanced curriculum covering a range of subjects for all its pupils to access. External monitoring has continued and all inspections have been extremely positive. Regular visits by a well-respected National Leader in Education (NLE) have given glowing feedback to the school in all areas, with a more recent focus on the foundation subjects of the National Curriculum. “The school’s work on reviewing and improving its curriculum is continuing to develop strongly due to a sharp focus on intent, implementation and impact. In particular, monitoring has been strengthened further and there is good evidence of how this is impacting positively on improving curriculum areas” (NLE 2020). We want all our pupils to enjoy their time at school, have the benefit of a well-balanced curriculum, and leave having achieved their own personal potential.
We are proud of our achievements in improving the educational experiences and academic outcomes of the children who attend our school.
Please see our SATs data below, which demonstrates these improvements and shows the journey we are making towards becoming an outstanding school.
