Welcome to Year 4

In Year 4, the teachers are Mrs. Hickman and Miss Knott, supported by and Mrs. Dicks.

We aim to create many opportunities for the children to immerse themselves fully into Key Stage 2 and the exciting challenges that it brings.

Having successfully transitioned into Key Stage 2, we expect our pupils to continue to develop their independence and master key skills such as organisation and time management. The exciting and stimulating Year 4 curriculum raises expectations and inspires our pupils to achieve their full potential. We encourage a growth mindset, which creates a love of learning and a resilience, which in turn leads to greater progress. Our children also recognise that making mistakes is part of the learning process, encouraging them to take risks.

We understand that as parents/carers you will want to fully participate in your child’s progress and work with us to get the best outcomes for your child and we hold regular parent workshops and consultations. We are also available to give you support in how best to help your child and answer any queries.

We hope that your child will mature emotionally and socially, but above all enjoy their time in Year 4.
